- You will serve as a SHIPFITTER in the SHIPFITTER SHOP (11A), HULL DIVISION, REPAIR DEPARTMENT (TRF-300), TRIDENT REFIT FACILITY, KINGS BAY, GA.
- You will perform rip-out, altercation, repair, and installation of submarine superstructures; emergency repairs, to weakened structures; and fabrication of various structures and fittings.
- You will shape metal pieces and assemble component to form required submarine parts
- You will install and fit structural parts utilizing services of other trades such as Rigger, Crane Operator, and Welder.
- You will use and maintain tools and equipment related to the shipfitter trade.
- You will set parts in proper position, aligns, and adjust using optical squares, jacks, turnbuckles, shoving saddles, clips, wedges, and hammers
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
- New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check

- Experience working from blueprints and templates to lay out submarine structural parts

- Experience shaping metal pieces and assembles components to form required submarine parts.
- Experience rolling, bending, flanging, cutting, and shaping plates, beams, and other heavy metal structural shapes using various shop machinery.
- Experience performing various task such as: removing and repairing/replacing damaged parts of ship structures; lining parts up for welding or riveting, installing temporary fasteners; opening and closing out all tanks for access at dry dock; and overhauling submarine hatches and doors
