- Offer individual, group, or family counseling sessions to clients and their families, providing emotional support and tailored coping strategies.
- Collaborate with clients to create personalized treatment plans considering their unique goals and concerns affected by epilepsy.
- Implement evidence-based therapeutic approaches like cognitive-behavioral therapy and mindfulness techniques to help clients manage their mental health symptoms.
- Guide clients in developing healthy coping mechanisms to navigate challenges related to epilepsy and seizure disorders.
- Provide education on epilepsy-related topics to enhance understanding and effective management of the condition.
- Participate in implementing specialized programs.
- Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive support and referrals for counseling and psychiatry services.
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records following professional standards.
- Stay updated on the latest research and best practices in epilepsy and mental health counseling.
- Provide necessary data and reports.
- Take part in fundraising activities and team meetings.
- Adhere to organizational policies and procedures.
- Qualify applicants will receive employment consideration regardless of race, color, religion, or other factors.
- Represent the agency positively at all times.
- Experience with epilepsy or seizure disorders is a plus.
- Active Mental Health Counselor license in Florida.
- Proficiency in English & Spanish preferred.
