Description:

Looking for a PostgreSQL DBA to support daily tasks within the environment and lead an upcoming project to upgrade 150 clusters to the latest version of mySQL.
The team consists of 6 other DBA's, so being open to learning and collaborating with various database technologies beyond PostgreSQL is crucial for this role.
Seeking someone who can assess current implementation strategies and recommend solutions to enhance performance and efficiency for the team.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with developers and business analysts to design and adjust database structure
Monitor database server performance
Rotation-based on-call support (1 week every 6-7 weeks)
Proficient in configuring and diagnosing physical and logical replication in PostgreSQL
Proficient in configuring and diagnosing log shipping and Always-on HA solutions in SQL Server
Identify and address performance bottlenecks in on-premises and cloud environments
Experience with deploying and managing PostgreSQL, SQL Server in cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, GCP, preferably AWS
Conduct database maintenance tasks such as backups/restores, updating statistics, rebuilding indexes, etc.
Collaborate with data engineers to align data in production databases with the data warehouse
Ensure system security and data integrity
Coordinate with systems engineers to optimize hardware and storage subsystems
Develop, manage, and update disaster recovery and high availability plans
Install, upgrade, and patch database servers
Participate in code and design reviews
Engage in production code pushes
