Duties

As a Nursing Assistant, you will be responsible for a variety of resident care, treatment, and charting tasks regularly. You will execute nursing procedures for your assigned patient area, with special duties towards your patients, following a team approach to provide comprehensive care.

Main responsibilities include:

Directly caring for veterans with complex conditions. Observing subtle changes in residents' conditions like behavior, mood, skin color, and appetite.
Performing oral and nasopharyngeal suctioning tasks. Providing complete tracheostomy care, including suctioning.
Monitoring and recording patient intake and output.
Carrying out nursing procedures within the scope of practice, e.g., administering enemas, catheterization, colostomy care, skin care, dressing, and applying braces/prosthetic devices.
Documenting care provided, observations, and responses using appropriate tools/forms.
Using equipment like lift equipment, Hydro sound Tubs, and Veteran/Resident Wandering System to support patient self-care.
Verbally sharing patient information with the treatment team for care plan inclusion.
Entering residents' condition details in the chart using the correct formats.
Contributing to upkeeping a clean, safe environment for patients/residents.

Work Schedule: Various shifts, potential rotation; weekends and holidays may be required.
