    We are seeking a Director of Corporate Accounting to assist in leading our collection of premier hotels and resorts located in Nantucket, MA, and Florida. Our Director of Corporate Accounting will oversee all accounting practices and procedures across multiple properties. This role requires a skilled professional who can drive financial excellence and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience in leading an accounting team and working with various hotel departments to develop effective financial strategies. The position will be located at our corporate headquarters on Nantucket and has been voted on the list of Top Places to Work by the Boston Globe.

    Responsibilities

    • Oversee the financial operations of all properties within the hotel chain, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
    • Lead the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
    • Ensure all accounting operations adhere to company policies and legal regulations. Coordinate with external auditors and manage internal audit processes.
    • Develop and manage the annual budget, long-term financial forecasts, and variance analysis. Provide insights and recommendations to senior management based on financial data.
    • Implement and supervise robust internal control systems to safeguard assets and enhance the reliability of financial reporting.
    • Manage and mentor the accounting team, fostering a collaborative environment. Promote professional development and continuous improvement within the department.
    • Support executive management by providing financial insights to drive strategic decisions. Participate in business planning activities, including mergers and acquisitions.
    • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of advanced accounting software systems and ensure seamless integration with other business processes.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelors degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification preferred.
    • Minimum of 5-7 years in accounting, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the hospitality industry.
    • Proficiency in accounting software, ERP systems, and MS Office Suite. Strong understanding of GAAP and IFRS.
    • Demonstrated ability to lead a team, manage projects, and drive organizational change.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
    • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with a purposeful approach to challenges
