    US Operational Health, Safety & Security Manager (HSSE)


    LOCATION:
    New York City, NY, San Antonio or Sugar Land, TX, or Detroit


    HOURS:
    Full time


    COMPENSATION:
    $110K-$130K Commensurate with Experience

    ABOUT THE POSITION
    Part of the US Property Team, you will report to Property and Facilities Director, North America.

    You will work closely with the wider global Group Risk Management Team and the Group Safety and Security Manager based in the UK in your day to day role.

    You will work closely with other business functions including:
    North America Venue Operations, the Food and Beverage Team (F&B) and other Head Office functions, as necessary.

    You will be an ambassador of operational Health and Safety, responding to our business' unique challenges with an approach that balances an uncompromised search for Health and Safety excellence with a commercial and innovative approach.

    This role is a national role with the requirement to travel across all venues to provide support as necessary and with use of the Head Office locations in New York and San Antonio.

    PEOPLE, PLACES, and THINGS
    §


    Supporting the production and implementation of new processes and procedures to deliver ATG strategic aims for Health and Safety Excellence.

    §


    Promotion of good health and safety practice within all levels of the business to minimize the risk of loss, damage, or injury to employees, to company assets, customers, contractors, and reputation (Note: the role does not incorporate financial risk management).

    §


    Working for the Property and Facilities Director, North America and closely with the Group Safety and Security Manager (UK based) supporting the delivery of the Risk Management Team responsibilities across Health and Safety, Fire, Security, Food and Insurance / Risk services for the business and personnel.

    §


    Responsible for providing support, direction, guidance, policy, supporting application of government regulation, and audit within ATG and across all supported Venues/Offices and to other Head Office departments in the agreed areas of responsibility.

    §


    Continued Professional Development to stay cognizant of legislative and best practice changes/ developments and bringing this to the attention of the US Property Team, Group Risk Management Team, North America Venue Operation and/or relevant Head Office functions as appropriate.

    §


    Leading by example at all times in matters of Health and Safety Management, endeavoring to engage the business in proactive, pragmatic operational health and safety procedures and striving for continuous improvement.

    §


    Policy and supporting processes/Training development and implementation in agreed areas of responsibility across Venues/ Offices including monitoring of Health and Safety programs to support the Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP).

    §


    Operational Health & Safety Audits/ Surveys – supporting the business in the delivery of appropriate Venue/ Office health & safety surveys with regard to all areas of operational health and safety management.

    §


    Conduct major incident investigations remotely and at site where appropriate and oversee the accident/incident reporting system; detecting trends and carrying out investigations when required.

    Business Continuity and Major Incident Planning and Support to Line Manager including emergency/Incident response/callout 24/7
    §

    External Services:

    provide support and subject matter expertise to the Property and Facilities Director, North America and their team on vendor/contractor selection and where required, appropriately scrutinize their suitability such as by conducting audits and regularly reporting on supplier status in partnership with the US Property Team and relevant Head Office functions as appropriate.

    §


    Construction Projects – provide subject matter expertise to US Property Team on the design and implementation of Insurance / Safety/ Security aspects and systems e.g., new offices, venue enhancements & refurbishments, change of use of venue spaces.

    §


    Maintaining appropriate levels of communication across the business including (but not limited to) escalation of issues when required to the relevant senior personnel via line management or relevant department heads within Venue Operations, representing the department at relevant meetings and producing regular reports on relevant operational Performance in accordance with established reporting frequencies.

    §

    Maintaining strategic group objectives ensuring a collaborative and constructive partnership with other ATG territories worldwide.
    §


    Additional tasks as deemed required by the business and as directed by the Property and Facilities Director, North America or Group Safety and Security Manager.

    EXPERIENCE and SKILLS

    Essential – Skills and Knowledge
    §

    3+ years practical experience in the implementation and monitoring of Health and Safety programs.
    §

    Health & Safety qualification – minimum Certificate in Occupational Safety (or equivalent).
    §

    Must hold a valid OSHA 10 card for access onto active construction sites.
    §


    A good working knowledge of OSHA and Federal, State and City health and safety requirements in New York City and Brooklyn.

    §


    Experience of Health and Safety governance, operational health & safety management and reporting in a multi-site, multi-state environment including audit, implementation of policies/ procedures/ training, incident management/ investigation and performance reporting.

    Essential – Experience and Work Ethic
    §

    Experience of working with enforcing authorities and third-party contractors.
    §


    Ability to inspire, influence and engage as part of behavioral based safety initiatives with a keen understanding of change management.

    §


    Excellent communication, organization and writing skills with the ability to meet goals in a fast-paced, changing environment and under pressure.

    §


    Strong time management skills and experience managing multiple projects simultaneously while being able to identify and execute work that needs to be done with minimal direction.

    §


    The ability to undertake travel extensively across the US including, but not limited to the States identified in 'S kills and Knowledge ' item 3.

    Desirable
    §


    A general knowledge of OSHA and Federal, State and City health and safety requirements across multiple states including Massachusetts, New York, California (CALOSHA), Michigan, Texas and Louisiana.

    §

    Experience or understanding of UK and European Health and Safety Legislation.
    §

    Experience in risk management in historic buildings or a public facing/ entertainment or events industry.
    §

    Experience of developing and implementing subject specific training material.
    §

    ServSafe Manager or TIPS certification or experience of safety management in an F&B environment.
    §

    A strong history of being a goal orientated problem solver.

    practical, solutions-based approach to Health and Safety Management with ambition to find the simplest, most innovative processes that complement the business operation.

    §

    Ability to initiate and maintain extensive contacts with professionals and officials of other organizations and companies.
    §

    Proficient in applicable technology programs (not all inclusive): Microsoft Office (365), Teams, Evotix.
