    The primary function of the Health Unit Coordinator - NICU coordinates communication between nursing staff, physicians, other departments, professional staff, patients, and families relating to patient care.

    The Health Unit Coordinator facilitates unit operations through knowing and communicating information, managing the desk area, facilitating the use of technology, monitoring and communicating bed status, and coordinating downtime procedures.

    The position will utilize MeriterCare (Epic) to facilitate patient care orders and serves as a MeriterCare (Epic) resource to physicians and the nursing staff.

    Qualifications


    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Keyboarding skills; effective communication skills; knowledge of data entry systems; the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment; effective organizational skills
    Preferred


    • Previous experience in a health care setting helpful
