    Job Description


    The senior business systems analyst provides advanced functional expertise and guidance in the design, implementation and support of system applications and processes that support the customer service and business development organization.


    Responsibilities


    Manage the identification and documentation of business rules that define Northern Natural Gas's requirements for capital projects related to customer service and business development system applications and processes.

    Analyze or lead the analysis of business processes to determine appropriate requirements and process improvements to facilitate the delivery of application development and support services and formulating plans to address future requirements to ensure customer and information technology alignment of direction, resources and priorities.

    (25%) Lead user groups in assessing enhancement alternatives and in identifying and prioritizing system enhancement and change requests %) Perform research and fact-finding to develop business rules, requirements, processes and process improvements.

    Project-manage the design, development and implementation of systems, processes and technologies supporting the defined customer set. This includes developing the scope of work, assembling appropriate resources and defining/managing the project budget, schedule and deliverables %) Perform process analysis and reengineering to design and adapt system requirements %) Act as liaison between customer service and business development and information technology %). Provide project management support to staff. (5-10%) Provide technical input to assist in development of project planning. (0-5%) Perform any additional responsibilities as requested or assigned. (0-5%)


    Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, business administration or related field or equivalent work experience.

    (Typically six years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor's degree.) Five or more years experience in project management or systems implementation or support.

    Experience with or significant knowledge of Microsoft Project and Enterprise Project Management. Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to build consensus. Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills. Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently. Support the company's employee policies and procedures, including workplace safety rules. Some travel required.
