    Position Summary:

    The employee performs inspection of components, sub-assemblies, and fully assembled products. The employee would be responsible for gauging, measuring, and visually inspecting product, including all associated paperwork, making sure that it complies with our print specifications.


    Key Responsibilities:

    • Understanding and inspecting a wide variety of interrelated dimensions and surface finishes.
    • Responsible for inspection of in-process and processed parts. Performs special inspection set-ups either on machines or at benches. Use and understand all applicable instruments and gages such as height gauge, thread gauges, micrometers, calipers, ring gauges, depth gauges, and comparator.
    • Required to read and understand complex blueprints, procedures, travelers, and comp cards.
    • Utilize Excel files and Team Improvement Boards to collect and display FTY information.
    • Work closely with Group Leaders and Team Leaders on problem solving activities.
    • Utilize main frame system for scan/verify operations.
    • Work with Planner and Team Leader on daily shipments.
    • Work closely with both the teams Quality and Manufacturing Engineers when quality issues arise, ability to understand internal MDR/MRB and external case record requirements.
    • Meet all requirements of VCT Inspection (S19)-Knowledge of proper use of stamps, router systems, move/stock systems, "hold" and "Variations" systems, and material release systems.
    • Meet all requirements of Specific Hand Deburr (A07)-Demonstrate use of hand tools to a specific operation. Explain paperwork responsibility. Interpret process and allowable practices. Demonstrate ability to work under microscope. Knowledge of routine maintenance of tools.
    • Ability to use both dot peen and laser marking systems, along with associated verification devices.
    • May be expected to train others in the role of Final Inspection in value streams for which he/she are certified.
    • Pass internal certification requirements in order to judge hardware cosmetics as directed by our customer assessed by the Quality Leader.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Possess a High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred
    • Knowledge of welding terms and symbols, sectioning and polishing techniques, and use of lab microscopes.
    • Basic understanding of Microsoft Office suite

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience in manufacturing environment minimum of 2 years
    • Background in inspection including hard gaging, use of calipers, micrometers, and visual inspection minimum of 1 year
    • Experience with the deburring of metal hardware
    • Experience with weld and/or inspection of weld or braze

    Key Competencies Include:

    • Demonstrates accurate record keeping ability.
    • Possess knowledge of machining and welding procedures.
    • Advanced knowledge and use of standard and special gaging and comparators.
    • Strong communication skills.

The team member is required to demonstrate manual dexterity and use hands to operate machinery. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Also expected of the team member is regular attendance and the ability to work cooperatively and professionally with others. May be required to lift up to 50 lbs.
