    JOB SUMMARY

    Location : 1100 Allied Dr, Plano, 75093

    Schedule : Monday - Friday 7 am - 4 pm

    The Manager Non-Invasive Cardiology plans, organizes and directs the activities of the non-invasive cardiac diagnostic testing areas including the echocardiography lab and EKG lab. This position is accountable for clinical operations, business planning, financial management, I.S. coordination/oversight, regulatory compliance, and H.R. activities relative to staffing, work assignments, hiring/termination, performance reviews, orientation, and professional development.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE

    • Provides area management and daily oversight of clinical operations ensuring patient and physician needs are met.
    • Ensures provision of diagnostic services meeting or exceeding company and industry standards of care and satisfaction. Identifies and initiates necessary corrective action as needed to correct noted performance deficiencies.
    • Performs duties and responsibilities of the technical staff. Uses basic to advance ultrasound procedures involving a variety of equipment and techniques and makes the necessary measurements required for the interpretation to obtain accurate, high quality results.
    • Identifies and defines abnormalities and extends the scope of the examination appropriately, deviating from standard techniques when necessary and correlating invasive and noninvasive diagnostic test results to correlating ultrasound anatomy and function.
    • Ensures test/procedure scheduling, reporting and turn-around times as required by both Physicians and patients.
    • Resolves patient and customer complaints in a professional and timely manner.
    • Performs financial management of operations and resources as directed by clinic administration.
    • Assists administration in developing and managing annual operating and capital equipment budgets.
    • Works with the Director to establish financial productivity goals, measure performance and manage resources to achieve defined financial goals within parameters of current revenue.
    • Proactively seeks to minimize overtime and excess costs. Seeks avenues of cost containment and reduction.
    • Ensures accurate and timely charge capture and entry in accordance with established policies.
    • Prepares timely and accurate financial, statistical and tracking reports monthly or as directed.
    • Accountable for business planning in conjunction with physician leadership and division administration.
    • Assists in development of short and long-term business plans as directed by the Director.
    • Implements business plans to achieve periodically set goals for patient and procedure volume.
    • Ensures execution of business plan in a manner that does not conflict with patient satisfaction and clinical excellence goals.
    • Participates in defining appropriate standards of care for measuring actual performance against benchmarks.
    • Ensures areas of responsibility operates within all applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
    • Ensures establishment and maintenance of technical procedure manuals and proper quality controls on all aspects of lab equipment and processes.
    • Ensures knowledge of and dissemination of necessary Joint Commission & OSHA standards to increase compliance and safety.
    • Attends all necessary meetings and training to maintain current knowledge of applicable laws, rules, regulations and policies.
    • Ensures professional and ethical behavior of subordinates following established policies and by knowledge and enforcing the Guiding Business Values.
    • Provides leadership and supervision of help staff in accordance with Human Resources regulations and procedures.
    • Ensures staff have the necessary training, experience and competencies required to perform their duties by coordinating continuing education and by providing in-service and conducting orientations.
    • Accountable for staffing, scheduling, payroll entry, hiring, terminating and evaluating all staff in operational area.
    • Maintains necessary records in accordance with established policies and procedures.
    • Manages staffing and schedules within budgetary limitations seeking to maximize ability to perform diagnostic testing in multiple clinic and hospital service areas.
    • Managers employees through coaching, teaching, evaluation, counseling and discipline to maximize individual performance.
    • Establishes a climate that reduces obstacles and promotes opportunities for staff members to formulate and implement own initiatives to improve personal and departmental performance.

    • Ensures achievement of standards necessary to maintain IAC credentialing for echocardiography lab.
    • Ensure adequate information system resources and processes to meet non-invasive cardiology systems clinical requirements including data integrity, privacy and security.
    • Ensures establishment and maintenance of technical procedure manuals and proper quality controls on all aspects of the laboratory to ensure quality of test results.
    • Maintains adequate volume of cardiac echocardiograms and continuing education to maintain clinical skills and specialty certification as required by IAC credentialing regulations.

    KEY SUCCESS FACTORS

    • Requires knowledge of Echocardiography and EKG instrumentations.
    • Requires thorough knowledge and ability to apply complex non-invasive cardiac and vascular values, instrumentation and techniques.
    • Requires thorough knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy and physiology.
    • Ability to work a flexible schedule; including early morning hours, and evening hours.
    • Management skills necessary to plan, organize and direct operational and capital equipment activities.
    • Demonstrated interpersonal skills necessary to interact with all levels of personnel and external customers.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication and conflict resolution skills.
    • Proven capabilities in time/project management, fiscal management, quality improvement, research, customer relations, radiation protection and safety, and infection control.
    • Knowledge and abilities required to oversee and perform quality assurance and quality improvement activities.

    QUALIFICATION

    • EDUCATION - Bachelor's or 4 years of work experience above the minimum qualification
    • EXPERIENCE - 3 Years of Experience

    CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION -

    • Basic Life Support (BLS): BLS within 30 days of hire/transfer.
    • Adv Cardiac Sonographer (ACS), ARRT-N Nuclear Medicine Tech (ARRT-N), Cert Nuclear Med Tech (CNMT), Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS), Reg Diag Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS), Reg Dig Card Son-Adult Echo (RDCS-AE), Registered Vascular Tech (RVT): Must have ONE of the following:
      • ACS
      • ARRT-N
      • CNMT
      • RCS
      • RDCS
      • RDCS-AE
      • -RVT.
