    Summary

    The Assoc.

    Director, US Medical Affairs Excellence Psychiatry will serve as the external engagements, insights, and scientific communications & training lead for the Psychiatry Medical Affairs therapeutic area.

    Working closely with the Medical Director team and Field National Director, the role will ensure that the team is well equipped to cultivate strong strategic external relationships, continuously assess and report on derived interactions, and execute on accurate, robust, and appropriate medical/scientific exchange of knowledge and clinical expertise, through scientific communications and training.

    Further, this position will serve as the internal medical/scientific US and Global cross-functional and cross-Alliance point of contact for scientific communications, training, and external engagement driving corporate objectives and goals.

    Essential Functions

    The Assoc.

    Director will help shape and execute the Psychiatry Medical Affairs strategy by enhancing external stakeholder relationships, analyzing and communicating medical insights to internal stakeholders, and ensuring that medical communications and training are elevated and aligned with the medical strategy.

    This position requires a strong knowledge of the psychiatric therapeutic area, experience with building and maintaining relationships with external KOLs, and an ability to work with cross-functional and cross-Alliance stakeholders to help design and implement initiatives across Psych MA.


    • External Engagement & Insights
    • Help develop and execute on external engagement plan across priority psychiatry compounds and indications, in collaboration with medical team, cross functional, and cross
    • Alliance partners
    • Analyze insights collected from external stakeholder interactions and communicate insight trends to medical and cross functional stakeholders to inform the brand strategies across organizations
    • Assess impact of insights on the pull through of strategy and tactics in the medical organization and ensure insights collection is optimized according to the medical affairs needs
    • Partner on the optimization of systems and processes with Lundbeck's Advanced Analytics and Omnichannel team to leverage analytics capabilities in developing and executing territory engagement plans for US Psych MSLs
    • Track, measure, and report MSL performance against core set of KPIs, partnering with Psych MA National Field Director and Analytics team
    • Medical Communications and training
    • Execute tactics supporting the Psych MA's Medical Communication strategy to deliver approved Medical content
    • Collaborate with Alliance partner on the creation and delivery of external stakeholder educational materials, including digital content, ensuring quality, scientific accuracy, compliance, and strategic alignment
    • Create and deliver a robust scientific and skills on boarding and maintenance training curricula for Psychiatry MSLs and assess effectiveness of training
    • Collaborate with Alliance Partner and represent Lundbeck medical during the content review process
    • Understand and execute compliance and USMA processes to ensure compliant communication across internal and external stakeholders
    Required Education, Experience, and Skills

    -
    • Accredited advanced degree in life sciences / clinical discipline with 5+ years in pharmaceutical, biotech, or related industry experience (i.
    e medical device, healthcare, consultancy agency supporting the pharma, biotech, healthcare industry)

    • Previous scientific communications, training, and/or clinical teaching experience
    • Strong understanding of engagement needs of health care practitioners (HCPs), patients, and payers and familiarity with clinical research and data
    • Ability to critically evaluate medical literature and fact check materials against source documents and show highest level of accuracy in attention to smallest details.
    • Demonstrate a working knowledge of US regulatory guidelines including FDA product promotional guidance, PHRMA Guidance and OIG, Guidance for pharmaceutical manufacturers.
    • Superior oral, written, and presentation communication skills
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload when facing multiple tasks, deadlines, and competing demands
    • Ability to understand interdependencies of the broader organization, the importance of timely responsiveness, and the ability to manage expectations of internal and external key stakeholders
    Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills

    -
    • Advanced degree in life sciences / clinical discipline (Master's+ ) preferred
    -5+ years in pharmaceutical, biotech, or related industry experience

    • Strong knowledge of the Psychiatry Therapeutic Area
    • Prior experience with Veeva
