    GENERAL SUMMARY:

    We are on a mission to build the best digital banking experiences for our customers, and we are looking for an SVP, Head of Engineering - Data Architecture, Engineering, and AI/ML who can help lead this mission.     PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Design, implement and lead Data Architecture, Data Quality, Data Governance across the Digital Bank.
    • Defining data modeling standards and foundational best practices.
    • Support establishing data governance processes, procedures, policies, and guidelines to maintain the integrity and security of the data.
    • Create and maintain critical data standards and metadata that allows data to be understood and leveraged as a shared asset.
    • Lead the design of data schemes, object models, and flow diagrams to structure, store, process, and integrate data.
    • Provide architectural assessments, strategies, and roadmaps for data management and advanced ML/AI platforms.
    • Apply hands-on subject matter expertise in the Architecture and administration of Big Data platforms, Data Lake Technologies and experience with ML and Data Science platforms.
    • Implement and manage industry best practice tools and processes such as Data Lake, Delta Warehouse, ELT Tools, GCP, Big Query, Vertex A, Kafka, Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD, DevOps.
    • Define the strategy for Data Engineering and Platform engineering, work cross functionally to ensure key stakeholders, business and product requirements are aligned.
    • Define, Develop, and Own short-term and long-term tech roadmap as well as development and ownership of tech stack, engineering lifecycle, and a development framework with strong input on the overall product roadmap and lifecycle.
    • Be responsible for leading the Data Architecture, data platform engineering, AI/ML functions at the Digital Bank. You will shape the charter of the team.
    • Lead the architecture and engineering team, including day to day execution and long-term planning. You will solicit new project ideas, prioritize them for impact, and drive execution across the organization.
    • Work closely with other teams throughout the company and key 3rd party solution providers to enable data-driven decision making.
    • Identify and mitigate potential risks and challenges associated with data architecture, engineering, and AI/ML projects.

    Position Requirements

    POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:
    • B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, or equivalent.
    • Extensive experience in understanding a variety of complex business use cases and modeling the data in the data warehouse.
    • Proven experience in building Enterprise Data Lake, Data Warehouse, ML Platforms.
    • Knowledge of infrastructure requirements such as Networking, Storage, and Hardware Optimization with Hands-on experience with GCP, Azure or equivalent.
    • Strong verbal and written communications skills are a must and work effectively across internal and external organizations and virtual teams.
    • Demonstrated industry leadership in the fields of Data Warehousing, Data Science, and Big Data related technologies.
    • Strong understanding of distributed systems and container-based development using Docker and Kubernetes ecosystem.
    • Deep knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
    • Excellent pattern recognition and predictive modeling skills. Experience with large imbalanced datasets.
    SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
    • 15+ years of hands-on experience in Data Warehouse, ELT, Data Modeling & Reporting and leading engineering teams.
    • 7+ years of hands-on experience in productionizing and deploying Big Data platforms and applications, Hands-on experience working with: Relational/SQL, distributed columnar data stores/NoSQL databases, time-series databases, Data streaming, Kafka, GCP Platform, and more.
    • Coaching and talent development skills including the ability to mentor and motivate others.
    • Proven experience as a technical leader for managers of managers, as the leader of an engineering organization driving significant impact.
    • Possess a deep understanding of how to translate product and business goals into tech strategies.
    • Proven track record in developing and managing diverse technologies and systems.
    • Extensive banking systems knowledge.
    • Experience in working with matrix environment, large corporation/group companies' environment.
    • Experience in supporting regulatory exams and audits, prioritizing, and completing critical findings.
    • Practical experience with engineering and project management methodologies, including Scrum, Agile, Lean, Kanban, Microservices.
    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Ph.D. in Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, NLP, or similar.
    • Experience with ML Ops systems.
    • A drive to keep up and build on cutting edge research.
