    Basic Job Purpose:

    Specimen Management Business Management is seeking a talented go-getter with a passion for continuous improvement to join their team as a Sr. Program Manager- CI Strategic Initiatives

    Reporting to the Senior Director, this person will be on the leading edge of aligning business group strategies with finding better ways of working through the execution of business integration programs. A successful candidate will need to be able to manage the project from start to finish, while being responsible for the creation and maintenance of key project artifacts inclusive but not limited to budget, timeline, resourcing, and risks that are associated with initiatives assigned in a timely and cohesive manner. They will serve as champion for LEAN and CI principles within business processes, recognizing opportunities, driving change, and sustaining improvements.

    The position will collaborate with Marketing, R&D, Quality, Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Labeling, Operations and other functions to identify and support a pipeline of continuous improvement projects. Does not hesitate to challenge the status quo in search of opportunities that help the business decrease time and money spent on activities.

    As Sr. Program Manager, the candidate must be ready and able to lead change and guide activities that will optimize the flow of value through the business. Not only leading projects in a traditional sense, the Sr. Program Manager will need to organize teams around the identification and reduction of waste in processes, focus on eliminating unnecessary bottlenecks and delays, all while providing spaces for teams to innovate and find their own ways of working, creating a culture of improvement.

    Principal Accountabilities:

    Manage execution of the program's projects to drive business integration that provide key strategic value for Specimen Management to meet Business Group expectations.
    • Works closely with the Sr. Director - Strategic Initiatives & Business Integration to transition projects from proof of concept to execution, and to support idea/project generation.
    • Ensure strategic alignment by radiating Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to all stakeholders.
    • Effectively plan and lead a cross-functional teams to execute the pipeline of projects on time and on budget.
    • Develop maintain and communicate via dashboards related to project/program execution, risks, and resource management.
    • Utilize Project Management best practices to plan, budget, track, and communicate projects progress.
    • Be an active participant in project and program execution - leading through example while coaching, empowering, and engaging team members to think and behave with Lean and Agile principles as guidelines.
    Observe and coordinate and deploy continuous improvement measures as needed to create and maintain efficiency in business process execution.
    • Utilize methodologies such as Kaizen, Kanban, and Gemba walks
    • Guide teams in the Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA) problem solving model to find effective solutions to process bottlenecks, waste, and cost reductions
    • Establish well-articulated implementation plans that are reflective of the evaluation and prioritization of identified changes
    • Facilitate analysis, reporting, and recommendations for process improvements and program quality enhancement
    • Continued analysis of implementation solutions ensuring adherence to objectives and perceived benefits
    • Ensure continuous improvement using Six Sigma and Lean principles
    • Coordinate subject matter expertise in developing solutions and measuring the implementation of recommended processes
    Utilizes Lean, Disciplined, or Hybrid agile methodologies to drive program success.
    • Empower and provides agility to the cross-functional team during the execution of projects.
    • Provide technical direction in areas of process improvement analysis and project management
    • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, setting goals and milestones and assigning responsibility
    • Drive cultural change by championing an agile mindset, and ensure the organization is adhering to industry best practices
    Education
    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Supply Chain, or other biotechnology related field.
    • Certified lead leader, six sigma black belt preferred
    • PMP certification preferred
    Experience
    • 10+ years progressive experience in manufacturing operations, product and/or process development roles.
    • 5+ plus years work experience managing large programs and projects, preferably in a global setting.
    Special Skills
    • Demonstrated ability to get results through others without direct authority.
    • Strong technical aptitude with demonstrated ability to lead high performance cross-functional teams.
    • Strong project management skills, including effective meeting and workshop facilitation skills.
    • Strong analytical, problem solving and judgment skills.
    • Hands on track record of implementing, sustaining LEAN fundaments - including visual management, 5S, tiered accountability, Gemba, leader standard work, value stream mapping, FMEA
    • One year of specialized experience in facilitating complex quality and Lean Six Sigma (LSS) process improvement activities within a medical device manufacturing environment
    • Hands on experience facilitating Work-Outs, Kaizen workshops or other problem solving events
    • Ability to utilize various continuous process improvement strategies.

    • Ability to translate business objectives into tactical activities which are results oriented
