    Quality Control Specialist (Structural Steel Construction)

    We are partnering with a general contractor specializing in structural steel construction to expand their Quality Control department. This role is ideal for individuals looking to transition into the construction or manufacturing industry and possess a strong interest in quality assurance.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Oversee adherence to AWS, AISC, and other relevant standards during fabrication to ensure high-quality steel structures.
    • Conduct regular audits to identify areas for improvement and guarantee compliance with established quality control procedures.
    • Implement and monitor welding procedures to ensure proper weld quality, including inspections, testing, and documentation.
    • Oversee visual inspections and non-destructive testing methods to detect defects or imperfections in welded joints and steel components.
    • Enforce health, safety, and environmental regulations throughout the fabrication process to maintain a safe work environment.
    • Collaborate with QC inspectors, CWIs, shop and field employees to provide additional training, manage AISC and PCI standards, QA/QC programs, and facilitate annual 3rd-party audits.

    Required Qualifications:

    • +5 years of experience in Structural Steel Fabrication and Welding
    • Ability to read and understand fabrication and construction drawings
    • welding experience and certifications (D1.1 and/or D1.5)
    • Understanding of AISC and AWS standards
    • Certified Welding Inspector preferred

    Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per year
