    About the Job


    Essential and Other Functions:
    80% Laboratory-based studies

    Design, conduct, analyze experiments and report findings to PI or research team.

    10% Writing

    Lead manuscript writing and contribute to grants and reviews.

    10% Mentoring

    Mentor undergraduate students and more junior people in the laboratory.


    Summary of Position:


    Postdoctoral positions are open to study the purification and analysis of sirtuin proteins and characterization of small molecule activators of their diverse enzymatic functions.

    Qualifications


    Required Qualifications:
    PhD in biochemistry or related biological field.

    Must have expertise in one or more of the following depending upon the project:
    protein purification, enzymology, proteomics.


    Preferred Qualifications:
    Experience working alone or in teams as well as manuscript writing preferred.

    The department of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Biophysics is committed to understanding the molecular mechanisms of metabolic diseases and cancer; developing novel strategies in biocatalysis and biotechnology; and advancing knowledge through structural biology and molecular biophysics.

    We organize ourselves into research divisions with emphasis on Chemical and Structural Biology, Metabolic and Systems Biology, Molecular Biology and Synthetic Biology and Biotechnology.
