    Job Overview:


    The Patient Access Representative accurately and promptly collects all pertinent information at the initial point of registration to ensure the proper billing process occurs.


    Qualifications:


    Required:

    High School Diploma or GED


    Preferred:
    Prior experience with hospital Patient Access/Registration and EPIC

    Knowledge of medical terminology and medical insurance

    Certifications and Licenses

    Required:

    Scheduling Requirements:
    Per Diem Day Position, following a period of orientation and training

    When covering, schedule can vary between 6:00am - 6:00pm, Monday-Friday

    Schedule includes one Saturday shift every four weeks from 7:00am- 12:00pm


    Essential Functions:
    Interviews patient and or family to complete registration

    Obtain/confirm all demographic and financial information is complete and accurate. Obtain and copy ID and insurance cards. Complete and copy all consent forms

    Accurately complete the Medicare Secondary payer questionnaire (MSP)

    Answers department phones quickly and relays all messages

    Collect deposits, deductibles and co-pays so as to meet required cash targets

    Maintain the required productivity and accuracy percentage as specified for job level

    Obtain Advance Medical Directive information, patient specific

    Adheres to patient rights:
    provides for the confidential treatment of all communications and records
