    The Senior Staff Data Scientist for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for research, design, and development of data science/machine learning solutions for Hematology related products
    This position is part of the

    Hematology and Urinalysis Business Unit

    located in

    Miami, FL

    and will be a

    Remote

    role .

    You will be a part of the Research and Innovation team and report to the Senior Director of Research and Innovation, and you'll be working on solving complex and unique analytical problems.

    You will closely collaborate with hardware engineers, system engineers, scientists, pathologists and clinicians to explore opportunities of data science in the field of in vitro diagnostics.

    In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
    Understand and translate user needs and requirements into data science/machine learning problem statements.
    Research, design, develop, and deploy algorithms to solve data science/machine learning problems in the imaging medical device space.
    Create and/or acquire needed infrastructure and tools to fulfill tasks.
    Define and quantify metrics to evaluate and optimize the performance of data science/machine learning solutions.
    Organize massive and heterogeneous data to support algorithm development.

    The essential requirements of the job include:
    B.S.

    degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or the equivalent analytical domain and 14 years of proven experience in data science/machine learning, or Master's degree and 12 years of proven experience in data science/machine learning, or Ph.

    D. and 9 years of proven experience in data science/machine learning.

    Strong skills in not only deep learning and modern AI but also traditional machine learning, signal processing, image processing, computer vision.

    Mastery in Python, deep learning frameworks such as Tensorflow, PyTorch, and Keras, machine learning packages such as SciPy and Scikit Learn, and image processing packages such as OpenCV.

    Skills in strategic thinking, problem-solving, logical reasoning, and time management. Detail oriented with excellent analytical and organizational skills.
    Enthusiasm and passion for technology and innovation. Be open-minded and innovative.
    It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
    Domain knowledge in in vitro diagnostics, especially Hematology.
    Experience in medical device development under FDA regulations.
    Experience with Cloud computing, CI/CD pipelines, and MLOps.

    The salary range for this role is

    $150K-$170K.


    This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting.

    We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
    This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
    We offer comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.
