- Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
- Current licensure in the state of Connecticut.
- Must have certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support upon hire or obtain certification within the new employee orientation period.
- Effective communication skills in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Basic computer skills.
- Perform assessments of the medical and surgical patient's condition and care needs comprehensively, including psychosocial, physical, educational, and cultural aspects.
- Demonstrate knowledge of adult and geriatric populations and provide age-appropriate care to patients.
- Assess and manage pain effectively, educating patients and families on pain management.
- Develop individualized care plans based on assessment and patient response, involving patients and families in goal-setting.
- Administer medications accurately, optimizing patient safety and outcomes.
- Document nursing process and responses to care promptly.
- Function effectively under stress, prioritize tasks, and delegate appropriately.
- Create teaching plans based on learning needs, evaluate effectiveness, and involve families in education.
- Practice autonomously following evidence-based standards, promoting personal and professional growth.
- Provide accurate patient condition reports for safe care transitions.
- Demonstrate knowledge of cardiac monitoring and treat dysrhythmias based on protocols.
