    This position advises students in the undergraduate and graduate programs, to maximize their career potential and readiness to gain experiential learning and post-graduation opportunities; creates, manages, and implements programs and mentoring opportunities for these populations; works closely with the Leadership Team on all planning and future initiatives.

    This position will also assist with managing student career training programs and initiatives which includes the Peer Career Coaches Program.

    Primary Function of Organizational Unit


    The mission of the Office of Career Services (OCS) is to provide centralized, comprehensive, and progressive interdisciplinary programs, services, and resources to prepare A&T undergraduates, graduate students, and alumni for the achievement of personal, professional, and career development that meets the needs of a global society.


    Career Services is customer focused and centralizes the functions of full-time employment, summer internships, cooperative education, part-time employment, post-graduation employment, and career counseling.

    The centralized, comprehensive, and progressive programs, services, and resources provided by the Office are tailored to be a gateway for the enhancement of the skills necessary to keep the A&T Aggie competitive in the workplace.

    Minimum Requirements


    • Master's degree in Human Resources, Higher Education, Counseling, Business, or a closely related field and 1 year of experience in career services, counseling, recruiting, HR, or higher education; or a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Higher Education, Counseling, Business, or a closely related field and 3 years of experience in career services.
    • Ability to work with individuals, groups, and teams.
    • Must be proficient with technology (Career Management Systems, i.e., Handshake) and interested in identifying and adopting technological advances in the field.
    • Ability to prepare and deliver presentations.
    • Well-developed interpersonal marketing and communications skills.
    • Must be able to make decisions and work independently.
    • High energy with an open, friendly personable attitude.
    • Ability to see the big picture.
    • Maintain confidentiality.
    • Experience developing and presenting workshops, educational, or training events.
