    Description

    Advanced Integrated Photonics and Electronics Engineer

    This role involves leading electronic development for photonic sub-systems to advance R&D efforts in integrated photonics and microwave photonics.

    The successful candidate will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team on design, integration, assembly, and characterization of hybrid electronic/photonic prototypes.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Leading electronic development to functionalize photonic sub-systems
    • Biasing of photonic devices, feed-back control, phase-locking, opto-electronic read-out, processing, and user-interfacing
    • Characterization, documentation, briefing reports, and project planning

    Requirements:

    • Expertise designing mixed signal embedded systems
    • Experience using circuit design software (e.g. Eagle, Altium)
    • Self-motivated, with strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and in a team environment across different disciplines

    Preferred qualifications include expertise programming micro-controllers, FPGAs or ASICs, deep understanding of feedback control, working knowledge of RF components and concepts, and extensive experience programming with C++, Python, and/or MATLAB.
