Description

Position: Lead Developer/Development Manager

Education Requirements:

Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.

Experience Requirements:

Minimum of 7+ years as a lead developer or development manager.

At least 5+ years of broad experience with development technologies such as:

CA Gen
Classic ASP
DB2 for z/OS or Oracle databases, or similar relational databases

Highly desired experience in:

VB and JavaScript
Microsoft Visual Studio/.NET

Primary Job Duties:

Act as a developer and subject matter expert on applications handling complex financial business processes within large cross-functional projects.
Ensure robust and scalable solutions are implemented.
Provide guidance and oversight to quality assurance for all new code from inception through integration, staging, and production environments.
Offer hands-on support and mentorship to peers and other team members.
Identify, analyze, and resolve problems and issues using troubleshooting tools and teamwork.
Work with the team towards continuous improvement, including:
Design and definition of roadmaps
Standardization of processes and methodologies
Collaboration with other developers and architects to drive guidelines, methodologies, and documentation.
Partner with distributed cross-functional teams to ensure comprehensive project communication, support, and delivery.
Stay informed on trends, relevant software development technologies, and methodologies.

Job Specific Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Proficiency in DB2 for z/OS or Oracle databases, including SQL.
Expertise in Computer Associates' CA Gen workstation toolset for web server, online, and batch procedures.
Knowledge of Computer Associates' CA Gen Com Proxy service.
Skilled in Active Server Pages (Classic ASP) web development using VB and J-script.
Familiarity with IBM Z-Server, CICS, JCL, and COBOL.
Preferred knowledge of Microsoft Visual Studio/.NET.
Experience in developing and maintaining software systems handling complex financial business processes.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with interpersonal, conflict resolution, and customer service skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
Competent in balancing multiple demands, working both independently and as part of a team.
Capable of conducting complex systems analysis and translating user requirements into business solutions.
Ability to integrate research and best practices into problem avoidance and continuous improvement.
Effective communication and leadership skills for guiding development teams.
