    Job Summary


    The Manager, Tax will be responsible for the management of state income tax compliance, assisting with federal income tax compliance, tax provision coordination and assist with federal and state tax planning.

    In addition, this individual will also be responsible for the end-to-end state tax processes which include research, audits, responding and resolving state tax notices and estimated payments and extensions.

    This position is also responsible for identifying and implementing process improvement and automation initiatives aligned to business objectives. This role does not have any direct reports but is responsible for coaching, mentoring and training other tax professionals. This position interacts with many levels of Management within the Tax department including Sr. Managers, Directors and Vice President.

    *This position requires working onsite in Lake Zurich, IL 3 days per week. Remaining days may be worked remotely.

    Responsibilities

    Prepare/review corporate federal and state income tax returns with all supporting schedules, attachments, and elections. Coordinate the state tax compliance process with external consultants.
    Review/prepare and files state estimated payments and extensions.
    Responsible for identifying and implementation of process improvements and automation initiatives to ensure best practices aligned with business objectives.
    Review daily updates on tax legislation, research impact on the business, and prepare documentation on any exposure items.

    Lead state income tax audit process and provides resolution for various correspondences from state government authorities and other federal and state reporting agencies.

    Manage the coordination of all state tax credit and incentives reporting and analysis.

    Manage quarterly and annual tax provision work papers, including analysis of state effective tax rate and review of state tax accounts.

    Responsible for Monthly Account Reconciliations.
    Coach, mentor, and train tax professionals within the team.
    Support the Tax Department with Transfer Pricing documentation (State and Federal).
    Maintain, create, and document Standard Operating Procedures within tax functions.
    Accountable for tax compliance, tax projects, tax research, tax issues and responsibilities as assigned.
    Job Requirements

    Bachelor's Degree in Accounting with 5+ years of tax experience, including income tax compliance, tax accounting, research and corporate federal income taxation.

    Knowledge of Federal and State Income Tax is required.
    Strong Excel skills.
    Strong skills in tax preparation, on-line research, general ledger systems, spreadsheet and word processing are required.
    SAP experience preferred.
    Strong interpersonal skills and desire to work with others and assist with other tax functions.
