    Description

    Your new company:

Our client is one of Vancouver's leading General Contractors with considerable expertise in the management of varied commercial, institutional, and residential projects.

The company head office is located in Burnaby, and they also have an office located in Ontario. Most of the projects undertaken are on a construction management basis for repeat clients. The company is well known for undertaking challenging, high profile projects for many leading clients.

They take pride in having a friendly, family-oriented environment where staff truly feel like a member of the team rather than just a name on the payroll.

The company places a high priority on staff having a healthy work-life balance, and this is something they take great pride in.

Consequently, they have introduced a permanent hybrid working arrangement whereby staff can work from home 50% of the time.

    Your new role:

We need to hire a senior-level construction professional to help provide leadership and direction to a capable and close-knit Estimating team.

The role will report into the Director of Estimating. Together you will work collaboratively with external clients to ensure their expectations are met and exceeded. You will develop the bid strategy and come up with creative solutions at the preconstruction phase.

You will coach, mentor, and develop the estimating team, and you will also contribute to the overall business strategy as a core part of the Executive team.

You must be happy to be hands-on and capable of getting into the detail as and when required.

    What you'll need to succeed:
You should be a tenured estimating/preconstruction expert that is able to inspire a team to achieve great results.

You must be a driven, articulate individual capable of forging positive lasting relationships both internally, and with external clients, consultants, and trade contractors.

You must have strong technical knowledge of construction delivery methods and risk mitigation.

    What you'll get in return:

This position will afford the successful applicant the opportunity to develop a career with a dynamic General Contractor of note.

The role will offer a direct route into a more senior leadership role which will be clearly laid out for you.

The compensation package will be suitably positioned to attract an industry top performer.

This will include a very attractive base salary, vehicle allowance, RSP matching, hybrid working flexibility, generous vacation, and an appealing bonus plan.
