- Schedule: 1-3 days per month (4th Monday of the month, plus an occasional Wednesday or Thursday)
- Hours: Dayshift, flexible hours
- Pain management and spine experience highly preferred.
- This is a dual role, CST, and First Assist responsibilities. This candidate will assist the physician during the surgical case as a CST and assist with wound closure as a First Assist.
- Assist the surgeon during surgical procedures with a high degree of efficiency, anticipating the surgeon's and patient's needs during the case
- Ensure the availability of adequate supplies, equipment and instruments for scheduled cases and assist in opening cases in a sterile manner
- Utilize physician preference cards to set up each case; updating cards when indicated
- Assist with patient positioning, skin prep, and draping
- Ensure accurate sponge, needle, and instrument counts are completed when indicated
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program and completion of Certified Surgical Assisting Program
- Certification as a First Assistant Preferred
- Minimum four years' experience as a Surgical Technologist prior to Surgical FA
- Current BLS
- The capacity to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment, while demonstrating resourcefulness and proactivity.
- Authorization to work in the United States without requiring authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future.
