Job Description:

The Argyle Assisted Living is seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Activities Manager to join our dynamic team. Nestled in the heart of the charming and vibrant Berkeley Neighborhood, our community is dedicated to providing exceptional care and enriching experiences for our residents. The Activities Manager will play a key role in creating a vibrant, engaging, and supportive environment that celebrates the lives of our residents and fosters a strong sense of community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Activity Planning & Execution: Design and implement a comprehensive activities program that promotes physical, emotional, and mental well-being for our residents. Activities should cater to a wide variety of interests, abilities, and preferences.
  • Resident Engagement: Develop meaningful relationships with residents, encouraging their participation in activities, and actively listening to their interests and needs to ensure personalized experiences.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the nursing, dietary, and wellness teams to ensure activities are aligned with residents' care plans and support overall health and happiness.
  • Unreasonable Hospitality: Embrace and promote the culture of Unreasonable Hospitality by going above and beyond in creating exceptional experiences. Whether through a thoughtful conversation or a perfectly tailored activity, your attention to detail and genuine care will make our residents feel valued and at home.
  • Berkley Neighborhood Integration: Take pride in the vibrant and diverse Berkeley Neighborhood. Foster partnerships with local businesses and community groups to incorporate the neighborhood's unique culture and resources into our activities. Take residents on outings to nearby parks, shops, and events to enhance their connection to the area.
  • Supervision & Training: Oversee activity staff and volunteers, ensuring they are trained, motivated, and providing outstanding service to residents. Provide ongoing mentorship and development opportunities to enhance team performance.
  • Event Coordination: Coordinate special events, holiday celebrations, and theme days to bring joy and a sense of excitement to the community. Ensure all events align with the values of The Argyle and reflect the spirit of hospitality and inclusion.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of resident participation, preferences, and feedback to ensure programs are continually improving and meeting the needs of residents.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a recreational or activity leadership role, preferably in a senior living or healthcare setting.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on resident satisfaction.
  • Personality: A genuine passion for working with seniors and a deep commitment to enriching their lives through thoughtful, engaging activities.
  • Education: High School Diploma required; Bachelor's Degree in Recreational Therapy, Gerontology, or related field preferred.
  • Certifications: Activity Director certification or similar credentials preferred, but not required.
