Position Overview
To achieve its ambitious mission, the Greene County School District requires a dynamic and detail-oriented coordinator is required.
The Community Engagement Coordinator will be part of a small team responsible for driving Greene County School District's work forward, supporting day-to-day communications, administration, community engagement, and data functions.
ResponsibilitiesThe Community Engagement Coordinator will provide day-to-day support and facilitation of Greene County School District effort
Key responsibilities include:
Working With Community Partners:
Facilitating a process that ensures initiatives meet local priorities, are inclusive, equitable, culturally relevant, and responsive to community input over time
Developing and maintaining a list of diverse cross-sector community partners and upcoming events
Organizing outreach against that list of community partners and upcoming events, including following-up as needed
Coordinating research and other activities with partners to minimize redundancies and align strategies and actions, including conducting individual outreach and education
Working with the anchor institution, working groups, and executive table to update outreach strategy as new needs emerge
Working with the anchor institute, working groups, and executive table to coordinate with other related projects and coalitions (i.e., in the same field) to maintain a full understanding of the current landscape of local and regional activities, and integrating their work into the executive table and working groups processes
Securing letters of support from elected officials and community partners
Building and maintaining relationships with community partners
Strategic coherence:
Maintaining understanding of current implementation challenges and developing comprehensive solutions to address them
Working with the executive table, consultants or others to support the partnership with establishing annual policy priorities and advocacy agendas
Providing support to partner organizations in aligning their work to the shared vision of the Greene County School District (e.g., identifying opportunities for program work to support specific goals)

Acting as a neutral facilitator and helping resolve disagreements in direction among working groups and the executive table
Coordinating advocacy supporting the activities of partners
Communications:
Communicating the objectives of Greene County School District to the community and potential partners, including sharing the shared vision, call to action, or other collateral
Facilitating ongoing communication between Greene County School District partners by hosting regular conference calls, in-person meetings, and coordinating regular email updates to ensure alignment of activities
Creating and maintaining a system for documenting and sharing partners' collaborative work, including meeting summaries, action commitments, action plans, data, etc.
Creating or managing the creation of yearly summary reports of Greene County School District progress for the executive table and external audiencesPlanning and managing logistics of, and attending, some community events (e.g., sharing progress toward results, press/photo opportunities for the whole partnership)
Developing or managing the development of communications materials as Greene County School District evolves; potentially including summary documents, brochures, FAQs, and other items such as:
o Developing web and social media strategy;
o Compiling and maintaining list of press clippings; and
o Creating press strategy, including drafting press releases and coordinating with media outlets
Fund development and management:
Working with the anchor institution and executive table to identify potential funding sources to support Greene County School District's goals and priorities:
o Writing grants, as needed, or coordinating the work of a grant writer;
o Working with implementing agencies to provide information to support their grant applications; and
o Coordinating Greene County School District grant reporting to funders as required
Tracking all Greene County School District funding and spending, including allocated funds from partner organizations
Data collection, analysis, and reporting:
Coordinating target and indicator refinement with the executive table and working groups
Ensuring all partners are aware of targets and indicators

Creating or managing the creation of yearly summary reports of Greene County School District progress for the executive table and external audiences
Coordinating work of data management staff or consultant where applicable
Child Safeguarding:
Collaborate with Save the Children's Lead Associate to foster an understanding of our child safeguarding policies through ongoing training and technical assistance
Ensure consistent reporting of child safeguarding risks and incidents, strong methodology in the field for managing risks and following reporting protocols, supplying proper documentation in support of incident reports as needed, and collecting data on child safeguarding risks and efforts to mitigate risks in the program environment
Make intentional, regular efforts to remain up to date on key local and state child-welfare policies and reporting protocols
Follow all key local and state child-welfare policies and reporting protocols, as provided by the Lead Associate
Complete all Save the Children required Child Safeguarding trainings
Reporting Relationships
The Community Impact Lead will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with the community, day-to-day coordination of the Greene County School District's efforts and its many moving parts, and being part of a highly functioning team.
The Community Impact Lead will report to the Greene County School District .Requisite Qualifications
This is an outstanding opportunity to play a critical role in supporting kindergarten readiness goals of the district. Therefore, first and foremost, the Community Impact Lead must be committed to the mission of the Greene Reads Collaborative.
Additionally, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
A minimum of 3 years work experience including 1 or more years of proven community outreach and coordination experience
Demonstrated success in building and maintaining relationships with senior executives (e.g., superintendents, mayors, organizational or agency directors)
The presence to inspire confidence and passion in external audiences and to build effective relationships with a range of stakeholders
Advanced project management skills
Ability to thrive in a fluid, unstructured, entrepreneurial environment

Flexibility and the ability to work autonomously as well as take direction as needed
Commitment to collective impact concepts, a results-based approach and centering equity in partners' collaborative work
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
Strong community engagement and facilitation skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral)
Existing relationships with, or ability to build relationships with, a cross-sectoral range of stakeholders in the local or regional area, including senior executives
Desired Qualifications
Experience in a start-up environment;
Familiarity with the local area and/or focus of the initiative
Compensation
Compensation for the position is competitive and commensurate with experience.
