    Re:Car is a new US company that is exploring development in the electric vehicle space.

    Founded in early 2022, Project Re:Car spent its formative months establishing a leadership team and the product definition.

    Who we are looking for:Re:Car is looking for a dynamic, experienced Assistant Chief Engineer to join our growing team. This position will support the technical execution of all activities associated with system development, build, test, and evaluation to ensure operational and performance requirements are satisfied and ensure successful transition of the system from development to production within budget and schedule parameters. The Assistant Chief Engineer will support, and act in alignment with the Chief Engineer and the Program Manager as the technical design authority, providing direction and guidance to a multi-disciplined team of Systems and Design Engineers through all phases of the program with a spirit of creativity, innovation, quality, and continuous improvement.

    Responsibilities

    • Assist the Chief Engineer in managing the project by providing comprehensive support and technical expertise.
    • Offer specialized engineering knowledge across multiple domains, aiding in crucial technical decisions for various systems.
    • Conceptualize innovative product solutions, overseeing their progression from concept to design, build, and testing phases.
    • Coordinate technical oversight to balance technical scope, performance, and quality with schedule and cost objectives under Chief Engineer guidance.
    • Support balanced architecture and system design decisions, oversee trades and analyses on key performance parameters, and lead Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) activities.
    • Provide technical guidance to teams of matrixed resources to deliver engineering design, verification, production, and support for the system.
    • Oversee builds from prototype to production, leading technical problem resolution of issues found during the builds.
    • Influence the planning, execution, and strategy for key programs/tasks to achieve customer objectives across the Project Re:Car portfolio.
    • Represent the project and Engineering department as a lead technical expert to senior leadership.

    What you bring to the team:

    • Accredited Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, automotive, aerospace, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
    • A minimum of eight (8) years of related experience
    • Track-record of leading successful project and technology development activities from concept to launch.
    • Very strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Experience and success with supplier collaborations.
    • Experience engaging w/ internal and external leaders.
    • Demonstrated creativity / innovation.
    • Desire to lead with a spirit of continuous improvement.
    • Demonstrated initiative and organizationalskills.
    • Demonstrated ability to work in a teamenvironment.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (e.g.,Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
    • Occasionally must lift and carry equipment weighing 30 lbs.
