    GENERAL FUNCTIONS

    The Troy Recreation Department is seeking a Safety Town Camp Coordinator from Mid-May through mid-August to implement a fun and program that teaches children the importance of safety.


    DUTIES

    • Establish working relationship with Safety town Instructors and supervise them
    • Problem solve with parents regarding questions and concerns about children at camp
    • Report all incidents and accidents to Recreation Supervisor along with completing appropriate paperwork
    • Teach children basic indoor and outdoor safety information
    • Create weekly schedules to follow for Safety Town 1 and Safety Town 2
    • Assist Safety Town Instructors with working with children ages 4-7.
    • Establish relationship with each child, monitor progress at camp, and keep appropriate paperwork
    • Assist with other Safety Town camp related duties as assigned

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Must be at least 18 years of
    • Knowledge of safety topics is preferred
    • Current First Aid
    • As a condition of employment, the successful candidate must pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen (including marijuana)

    PREFERENCES

    • Prior experiences in teaching or another related field
    • Prefer experience supervising others

    HOURS

    Part-time; seasonal.

    Monday - Thursday; Training starting in May then Mid-June through Mid-August. 24 hours per week.
