    About the position:


    The incumbent serves as the Supervisory Pharmacist for the Mid-Atlantic Service Unit (MASU) located in the Monacan Health Clinic (MHC) in Madison Heights, VA.

    Member of the Health Center leadership team.


    The incumbent organizes and develops information to provide a solid base upon which management and the Administration Department can use to make effective data-driven decisions, in order to anticipate and meet the pharmaceutical needs of the patients and goals of MASU.

    Duties


    • Responsible for all pharmacy-related operations at the clinic.
    • Establishes policies, procedures, and processes to establish pharmacy services and ensures compliancy with all applicable laws and regulations.
    • Keeps electronic drug files and order menus updated and maintains appropriate drug inventory; procures supplies and medication for the pharmacy properly.
    • Serves as the consultant for the Purchased/Referred Care program on medication related services, questions, follow up and other tasks needed for contract pharmacy services.
    • Forecasts and prepares budget requests for pharmacy services and proposed pharmacy staffing plans for MHC.
    • Supervises pharmacy staff and delegates tasks to balance workload.
    • Develops and implements quality improvement measures and provides regular reports to the Chief Pharmacist and the CEO for governing board meetings.
    • Manages reports, receipts, and inventory for all controlled substances.
    • Maintains a faculty appointment or membership at the various pharmacy school and accepts students and interns on a rotating basis.
    • Provides expert pharmaceutical services, with an emphasis on patient therapeutic drug monitoring.
    • Coordinates the use of pharmacy software for the provision of quality clinical care and responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and upgrading the automated dispensing cabinet system.

    Qualifications


    To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying.

    BASIC REQUIREMENT(S):

    EDUCATION:


    Must have a doctoral degree in Pharmacy that is recognized by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S.

    Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.


    LICENSURE:


    Applicants must be licensed to practice pharmacy in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth ofPuerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


    Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Demonstrated professional experience in directing a hospital or clinic pharmacy program which includes experience in supervising staff, directing all activities in pharmacy, developing and implementing pharmacy policies and procedures, experience in working with accreditation standards and performance improvement activities.

    Experience in working with and managing healthcare information systems.

    You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
