    24-Hour Call Shifts | Low-Volume Community Hospital | Epic EMR | June Coverage Needed

    Rhino Medical is leading the charge seeking a

    Board-Certified OB/GYN Physician

    to provide

    hospital call coverage

    in a well-supported, low-volume community setting in

    Edenton, North Carolina . This assignment offers predictable 24-hour shifts, manageable delivery volume, and strong specialty support through the ECU Health system.


    This is a highly organized program ideal for OB physicians seeking short-term, call-only locums with seamless workflows and transfer resources.

    Clinical Scope:
    100% inpatient

    Epic

    Environment:
    Low-volume Emergency Department (7 beds), no ICU involvement
    Clinical Expectations

    The covering OB/GYN will be responsible for:
    Labor & Delivery

    Vaginal deliveries
    Cesarean deliveries
    Shoulder dystocia & obstetric emergency management
    Postpartum rounding
    Hospital Responsibilities

    Manage unassigned OB patients
    Cover all L&D and OB-related ED presentations
    No ICU responsibilities
    No code response required

    Supported transfers:
    ECU Health Air & Ground

    available for immediate escalation
    Volume Snapshot

    28–34 deliveries per month
    Small community setting with predictable patient flow
    Candidate Requirements

    Board Certified OB/GYN

    (required)
    Active & unrestricted

    North Carolina license
    Comfortable with both vaginal & cesarean deliveries
    Able to respond to hospital within 20 minutes
    Clean file preferred for faster onboarding
    Additional Requirements for Assignments Exceeding 6 Months
    If the locums provider continues beyond 6 months, the following certifications must be obtained:

    ALSO – Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics (current)
    AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring course

    (completed within the last 2 years)
    NRP – Neonatal Resuscitation Program

    (required for all community OB physicians)
