We are currently looking for all experience levels Equipment Operators, CDL and non-CDL drivers to operate a variety of specialized railroad equipment which include Hi-Rail trucks, off-track, bucket trucks and on-track brush cutting equipment. We offer comprehensive on the job training so that you can confidently perform a variety of services for industrial and commercial clients. Our projects include right-of-way vegetation maintenance programs and asset management services for railroads, DOT's, utility companies, commercial industries, Federal, State and local governments throughout the United States. Experience with vegetation management is a plus, but we will train the right individual.
Job Duties
Provides line clearing and tree trimming services for major railroads
Services provided include pruning treetops, repairing damaged trees by trimming or removal as well as removing broken limbs from rails, wires, roofs, and other objects
Properly maintain, prepare, and operate all tools and equipment including hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts
Operates as part of a crew with supporting Groundman and Crew Foreman
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Driver's license required.
Preferred: Commercial driver's license Class A with Tanker Endorsement
Completion of Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
Certificates and Licenses if necessary
Pesticide license, if required by state law
Ability to obtain Railsafe certifications (training will be provided)
Railroad tree trimming/climbing experience preferred
Knowledge or ability to learn railroad vegetation management techniques and procedures
Ability to travel to various job sites throughout the region
Must be flexible with working hours as railroad vegetation management is weather and schedule dependent. Weekend work and overnight travel may be required throughout the duration of the season.
