The Postdoctoral Fellowship provides mentoring and additional training that will prepare a recent doctoral graduate for an independent position in teaching, direct services, or research. Performs other duties as needed.
The Behringer laboratory seeks a postdoctoral fellow skilled in molecular, cellular, and integrated mechanisms of cardiovascular and neuronal aging and/or neurodegenerative disease. Prior experience in organized breeding, aging, & genotyping of transgenic animals is strongly preferred. Experimental techniques span from molecular biology to in vivo with cellular imaging and electrophysiology at the forefront. The successful candidate will also engage in professional activities as international meetings and submission of project manuscripts and grant applications to extramural agencies.
Doctoral Degree required. Minimum one year of experience preferred.

Use computer and software programs necessary to the position; perform basic math functions; distinguish colors and smells as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone; identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the work; see adequately to read computer screens and written documents necessary to position; discern temperature variances through touch.
