    Job Title: Universal Banker

    Reports To: Branch Manager

    Location: Grand Point Branch

    Work Schedule: Monday-Friday - 40 hours per week

    Job Type: Full-time


    General Purpose of Position:

    The Universal Banker is the customer ambassador for FM Bank with the overall purpose of providing quality and efficiency to customers who prefer face-to-face interaction with the Bank. This position will have a thorough understanding of the customer's transaction requirements and be able to effectively communicate all available options to them. Universal Bankers have the ability to work on the teller line, open new accounts, and process secured and unsecured loans and Home Equity Lines of Credit accounts.


    Summary of Responsibilities:

    • Actively engage in meaning conversation with customers in order to seek a thorough understanding of their complete financial needs
    • Take responsibility for branch and individual goals through engagement with the customers and prospective customers to present and cross-sell products and solutions to meet customers' needs
    • Serve as digital expert with the ability to demonstrate above-average knowledge of all digital channels in an effort to cross-sell and expand existing relationships
    • Accurately open & close Savings, Checking, Time Deposit, Individual Retirement and Health Savings accounts for customers
    • Accurately process the applications and closing documentation for secured & unsecured loans and Home Equity Lines of Credit (HELOCs)
    • Responsible for ensuring all transactions are processed in accordance with internal policies and procedures, including Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) requirements
    • Process wire transfers and issue Cashier's Checks
    • Collect and safeguard sensitive financial data
    • Identify opportunities to promote banking products and refer clients to the appropriate business partners
    • Overcome objections in a positive, service-oriented manner
    • Courteously and competently resolve all customer complaints, taking ownership from the first contact to final resolution
    • Assist customers with inquiries and issues over the phone
    • Meet and/or exceed performance evaluation metrics
    • Actively participate in training, meetings, and promotions
    • Perform routing bank telling tasks, including making deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and cash advances, receiving loan payments, and cashing checks
    • Balancing and filling the ATM and Teller Cash Dispenser/Recycling Machines
    • Processing bulk coin deposited with the Bank
    • Processing address changes and collecting safe deposit box rental payments
    • Maintain and balance the cash drawer on a daily basis by accounting for cash assigned, received, and disbursed
    • Comply and stay up-to-date with applicable laws and regulations
    • Promote strong customer interactions, build relationships and participate in cross-selling, and offer new products and services
    • Demonstrate good risk management decisions, including displaying solid knowledge of guidelines for fraud prevention and robbery
    • Actively contribute to meet the branch business goals, as well as individual sales and customer service goals
    • Accurately close out the teller terminal
    • Other duties, as assigned

    Educational and Experience Requirements:

    • High School Diploma or equivalent required
    • Bachelor's degree preferred
    • One to two years of previous Teller or Customer Service Representative experience preferred
    • Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers and decimals
    • Demonstrated ability to use a calculator and a computer
    • Ability to use Microsoft Office products
    • Experience with financial institution software systems preferred
    • Cash handling, customer service, and/or sales experience preferred
    • Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time
