    PURPOSE


    The Housekeeper ensures safe and clean living and working environments for the Islander Housing communities at Texas A&M- Corpus Christi.

    We are seeking a Housekeeper whose responsibilities include, but are not limited to, cleaning designated areas assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor by performing the following duties:

    vacuuming carpet areas including resident rooms, hallways, and common areas; mopping and cleaning tile areas including resident rooms and common areas; emptying trash in their designated area; and cleaning bathrooms including tub, shower, and toilet areas.


    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Maintaining the cleanliness of assigned building and rooms
    • Performs the following duties:

      vacuuming carpet areas including resident rooms, hallways, and common areas; mopping and cleaning tile areas including resident rooms and common areas; emptying trash in their designated area; and cleaning bathrooms including tub, shower, and toilet areas.

      Seeks out areas requiring cleaning; takes initiative to complete the task.
    • Adheres to established procedures to provide a safe working environment
    • Reports maintenance concerns via work order requests
    • Ordering/Restocking custodial supplies
    • Contributes to the team; exhibits professionalism with students, fellow employees and others.
    • Performs other related duties as requested and assigned

    WHAT YOU WILL NEED

    • High School diploma or GED
    • Ability to maintain a valid driver's license
    • Ability to communicate with clear written and verbal messages
    • Ability to present a professional image
    • Knowledge of safety equipment usage (e.g. AED, fire extinguishers, etc.), proper cleaning methods, and safety measures essential to the work environment
    • Ability to work outdoors in temperature extremes, work with high noise levels, and must have the ability to repetitively lift up to 50 lbs.

    WHAT THEY WOULD LIKE TO SEE

    • Previous professional cleaning, maintenance, or grounds experience is preferred
    • Previous housekeeping experience in residence life or college housing

    SALARY:
    $12.00/HOURLY.
