    Description
    General job duties. Types of procedures required.
    Coordinates and manages care for patients, including those with complex needs.
    Delivers written and oral communications that engage audience participants, respond to their questions and
    concerns, and produce specific outcomes and impact.

    Effectively delegates and supervises based on one s state practice act and an understanding of the concepts of responsibility, authority, and accountability.

    Performs age related patient assessments and nursing interventions, such as but not limited to: medications orally and intravenously, simple wound/ostomy care, enteral feeding, invasive/noninvasive blood pressure, and temp monitoring, end tidal CO2 monitoring, bi-pap care and management, short term ventilator management <48 hours, step-down telemetry monitoring

    Equipment utilized in the unit/dept.
    Phillips patient monitoring system. Accudose medication dispensing systems, Nelcor oxygen saturation monitors, EPIC Computer documentation system with Optime (Surgery) and ASAP (Emergency Dept).

    Required skills and minimum years of experience.
    IV Insertion 3-6 months experience
    Basic EKG interpretation for recognition of high risk arrthymias 6 months

    Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required.
    BLS, ACLS, PALS and TNCC. MN RN license.

    Shift or schedule requirements.
    8 or 12 hour shifts. Not scheduled alone.
    Call is expected if the employee is placed on low census, but no scheduled call shifts.
    Weekends required, currently rotating every other weekend or 2 on and 1 off

    Floating to over units/departments.
    Med/Surg nurse is floated to ED or Post-partum or surgical Women s Center patients

    Bed size/number of rooms for this unit/dept.
    42 beds in hospital

    Nurse to patient ratio of this unit.
