    Description


    As an HR Operations Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of the human resources department within our organization.

    Your primary responsibility will be to handle various HR operational tasks and processes, contributing to the overall success of the HR team and the well-being of our employees beginning with the applicant stage and continuing through to active employees.

    Your will be on provide an energetic experience for candidates, hiring managers, vendors and co-workers.

    This position is a hybrid position, and we prefer a candidate located in North Carolina, and will require a candidate to be located in a state where Johnson Brothers is currently operating.


    Job Description:

    Job Duties & Responsibilities:

    • I-9 documentation processing for all team members
    • Manage Ask HR inbox and phone line
    • Manage documentation and storage of all separation agreements
    • Lead Workers Compensation claims process - working with internal and external resources
    • Organization representative to all unemployment claims
    • Complete all work verifications and other requested documents
    • Work with team members requesting leaves of absence working with a third-party vendor
    • Workday entries in sync with work schedule/time clock entries
    • HR contact with HRBPs, supervisors, managers
    • Provide benefits support in all benefit categories
    • Perform transactions in Workday including but not limited to terminations, leave of absence, job changes, etc.
    • Finalize all terminations and separation information with team members
    • Lead HR Team Member interactions members regarding all HR processe
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with recruiters and local branch managers.
    • Arrange, launch, and manage pre-employment details and the background check process including drug screens, physicals, MVR analysis, JJ Keller enrollment, etc. for all offered candidates
    • Evaluate and determine decision outcomes based on candidate criminal background report, MVR, and drug screening results.
    • All necessary correspondence to candidates (pre-employment communication, benefits information, orientation links, motus and MVR policy information, rejection notices), and hiring managers (rejection notices, pre-employment communication, technology order forms, login information, manager documents, weekly recaps, orientation attendance etc.)
    • Complete new employee hires in Workday system, enter candidate and new hire information, and monitor approvals/onboarding process.
    • Work jointly with HRBPs to manage in-system job changes
    • Update new hire records in Workday.
    • Manage the new hire notification process informing all new employee start dates.
    • Conduct orientations as needed.
    • Additional duties as assigned and necessary for changing business needs
    • Support the ordering of sales permits in markets where necessary
    • Direct recruiting related calls as necessary

    Required Qualifications:

    • Skills & Abilities
    • Ability to manage multiple projects, initiatives, and requests simultaneously.
    • Intermediate/Advanced knowledge of Excel functions like pivot tables, vlookup, macros, etc.
    • Strong interpersonal communication skills
    • Ability to manage confidential information.
    • Exceptional organization and follow through capabilities.
    • Capable of working with a sense of urgency
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Experience 2-4 years of payroll processing experience, Workday payroll strongly preferred, and/or one or more years experience in a recruiting or general HR role
    • Experience with workplace leaves of absence (FMLA, Work Comp, Disability Benefits)
    • Experience with employment benefits (medical, dental, life, disability, 401(k), etc.)
    • Knowledge of state and federal employment laws
    • Ability to read, understand, and evaluate pre-employment process results and independently determine eligibility within company guidelines
