As a member of Collaborations Innovation and Architecture team, the Sr Software Engineer will have responsibility for designing, developing, and supporting code development for Genesys Cloud CX and its associated integrations with third party applications.

The Senior Engineer will serve in a lead technical role and interact with other Telecom and IT team members as well as various internal customers and external vendors.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in the analysis, design, data modeling, coding, testing, and debugging of software and configuration anomalies.
• Responsible for designing, coding, testing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting application software.
• Evaluate product change requests and take appropriate action to make required changes.
• Conduct system analysis and development, with limited support.
• Make recommendations towards the development of new code or reuse of existing code.
• Research code optimization techniques and evaluate strategies to eliminate performance issues.
• Assess benefits versus risk of implementing new technologies.
• Lead group discussions with peers or external groups.
• Demonstrated professional consulting, implementation, and solutions implementation experience with a specific focus on Genesys Cloud and AWS desired
• Good technical problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate in troubleshooting challenging configurations.
• Coordinate with other technical specialists, project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure timely and effective management of resources.
• Participate in concise and clear technical documents.
• Knowledge of other contact center platforms and VoIP protocols
• Conduct code reviews and build consensus among team members.
• Provide guidance to entry level engineering staff.
• On occasion, oversee user acceptance testing and unit testing.
• Work with external vendors, when necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in a Telecommunication/Computer Engineering/Computer Science, Computer Technology/or related discipline or equivalent professional technical experience
• At least 5 years of related experience
• Knowledge and experience working with Google Cloud, AWS / AWS AI and ML, AWS Lambda, Amazon Lexbots, and Microsoft Azure preferred
• Knowledge and/or certification in Genesys Cloud CX preferred
• Background with State & Federal Government work.
• Expert knowledge of HTTP requests, REST web services, and JSON
• Software Development experience in Java, Python, PHP, web application development scripting, tools, and methods
• Ability to work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
• Exercises judgement in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
• Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise.
• Determines methods and procedures on new assignments and may coordinate activities of other personnel as a team lead.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the development of software solutions that will meet or exceed business requirements; the development effort includes designing and implementing modules to the system specifications, conducting unit testing, troubleshooting issues and producing detailed proposals to resolve issues.
• Evaluate new coding techniques, tools, modules, and implementation as appropriate.
• Lead and mentor entry and mid-level developers.
• Consult on requirements elicitation and definition.
• Design software solutions per systems requirements.
• Code software solutions per designs.
• Code reviews, unit test, and integrate coded modules.
• Assist other developers in resolving issues by providing guidance and training.
• Support testing and remediate defects.
• Support users through troubleshooting and analysis of production logs and data.
• Investigate new solutions, tools, products, and techniques to incorporate into coding standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Requirements:

• Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 6 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 3 years experience; or equivalent experience.
• Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
• Exercises judgement in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
• Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise.
