Responsibilities Provide professional nursing care within Borgess Medical Center. The practice of professional nursing involves applying specialized knowledge and skills from the biological, physical, and behavioral sciences to patient care. It includes treatment, counseling, health teaching, and more. Recognize each patient's uniqueness and their right to quality nursing care. Ensure mutual goal setting and protect patient rights and privacy. The nursing process promotes health, incorporating knowledge of growth and development. - Collaborate with patients/families/healthcare team to identify mutual goals - Diagnose, treat, and evaluate responses to health problems/needs - Evaluate nursing care outcomes - Assess, monitor, and prevent complications - Communicate patient condition/response to physician - Ensure proper pain assessment and treatment - Delegate tasks based on clinical judgment Requirements Licensure / Certification / Registration: - Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) within 12 months - BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) within 30 days - Licensed Registered Nurse within 90 days Education: - AAS in Nursing or BSN or RN Diploma at start date - BSN within 6 years of start date - Grandfathered educational degrees for hires before 1/1/2015 Why Join Our Team Ascension Michigan operates 16 hospitals and over 300 healthcare facilities, employing nearly 23,000 associates.
