    Description

    Position Summary:

    The Shuttle Driver (Van Driver) drives minibus or van to transport clients, trainees, or company personnel; drives vehicle from individual or central loading area to social services or rehabilitation center, training location, job site, or other destination according to assigned schedule.

    This driver may assist disabled passengers into and out of vehicle, secure passengers' wheelchairs to restraining devices to stabilize wheelchairs during trip; may operate radio or similar device to communicate with base station or other vehicles to report disruption of service, clean and/or service vehicle with fuel, lubricants, and accessories, keep records of trips and/or behavior of passengers, and perform other duties when not driving such as, custodial and building maintenan


    MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:
    1. Customer Service, shuttle bus drivers must have exceptional customer service skills. They must be polite and professional, and make sure passengers are satisfied with their ride.

    Shuttle drivers must arrive to work on time, drive their vehicles following a set schedule or route.


    Drivers must have the stamina to sit for several hours at a time, and the hand-eye coordination to operate their vehicles while watching their surroundings.

    Ensure that passengers are safely loaded and unloaded from their buses (Vans).

    At the beginning and end of their shift, they inspect their vehicle to ensure that it is functioning correctly.

    Ability to read street maps, understanding their route by studying maps if necessary.

    Must maintain contact with the dispatcher and keep track of passenger pickups and drop-offs as necessary for log count.

    WORKING ENVIRONMENT/


    PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:
    Work is generally conducted in a shop environment.

    However, duties may involve the conduct of work in the out-of-doors area with a potential exposure to extreme climatic conditions.

    Work will require lifting up to 50 lbs; stooping; climbing; prolonged standing; prolonged sitting; Employee use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required is certain areas.

    Must comply with OSHA, EPA, Fire Regulations and published Company work rules.


    FREEDOM TO ACT:
    Reports to the Dispatcher Lead and Supervisor, and functions under his/her guidance and direction.


    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education:
    High School graduate or equivalent


    Experience:

    Must have a valid Colorado Driver's License at the time of hire One year minimum driving experience with a shuttle with a clean driving record; Must not have any health related issues that prevents or restricts prolong driving.

    Some knowledge of military operations and schedules. Must have good oral and written communication skills.


    Must possess and continuously maintain a current State of Colorado Driver's License prior to starting or by 30 days after employment.


    SECURITY CLEARANCE:

    Must be US Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) to obtain a CAC.

    Must receive a favorable background check and drug testing results.
