- Works under the supervision of the SDI Manager.
- Performs all radiographic and mammographic studies.
- Produces radiographs and organizes images, completes the required paperwork and charges.
- Responsible for patient safety and wellbeing during examinations.
- Assists and instructs patients during examinations.
- Assists with clerical duties and mammography regulatory tasks.
- Reports all equipment malfunctions.
- Cleans and inspects equipment prior to use.
- Performs radiologic and mammography examinations in accordance to established protocols.
- Responsible for inspecting and cleaning equipment prior to use.
- Responsible for keeping exam rooms neat and orderly.
- Reports equipment failures and/or malfunctions to supervisor or director.
- Reports all patient complaints, discrepancies to the Supervisor
- Responsible for processing images, completing and organizing paperwork
- Performs required QC as appropriate.
- Adjusts mammography controls as needed prior to schedule start.
- Produces high quality mammography images on all patients including wheelchair and implant patients.
- Confers with the radiologist throughout shift as to proper viewing, imaging and techniques to optimize patient examinations.
- Identifies abnormal breast tissue and repeats exposure or includes additional views to decrease patient anxiety.
- Confirms location of prior examination and contacts prior facility to secure previous mammograms for comparison.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Education: High school. Graduate of an AMA approved mammography course.
- Licensure: Current California Radiographic and Mammographic Technologist licensure.
- Experience: At one year of experience in mammography /x-ray.
- Skills: Basic clerical and computer experience.
