Summary

This position will serve as Supervisory Dentist and provide advanced dental health services to eligible pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients, beneficiaries at nursing homes, schools. While the position is mainly located at the Wanblee Dental Clinic, the dentist may at times work at other dental clinics or community outreach locations, including Mobile Unit.

Duties

• As supervisory Dentist, incumbent plans, organizes, and administers a comprehensive dental health program for the Wanblee Health Clinic. Majority of work includes clinical dental care and performing dentistry at the health clinic.
• Ensures that department expenditures are within allocated budget and ensures that department supplies, equipment, etc., are ordered and purchased.
• Ensures that the department adheres to accreditation requirements. Ensures that staff maintains licensure.
• Assigns work to subordinates, approves leave, prepares performance plans, administers discipline, resolves grievances and complaints, and provides training and awards.
• Initiates Human Resources actions for vacant positions, interviews and selects candidates.
