    Occupational Summary

    The Multimedia Specialist is responsible for developing and maintaining high quality content for the college's marketing and communications efforts. This position supports the college's external and internal communication needs through written and digital content. This position creates multimedia content for the college through photo, video and written applications, including but not limited to press releases, success stories, speeches, administrative reports and commercial scripts. Digital responsibilities include serving as the college's primary photographer and videographer and updating content on the college's digital platforms including the website, EnPlug monitors, and Sharepoint site. This position will work closely with the Executive Director of Community Engagement and the Marketing and Communications Coordinator on project management needs for special projects and other promotional activities as needed.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provides excellent customer service and assistance to internal and external customers through walk-in, telephone and email
  • Uses photography, videography, live streaming technology, cinematography, audio production, and related editing software to develop compelling visual assets that advance the college's mission, vision and strategic goals
  • Creates engaging content and posts for social media assets to include Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, etc.
  • Serves as the college's primary photographer and videographer
  • Utilizes storytelling, voice, and research to create compelling content for marketing and communication efforts
  • Assists college personnel with graphic design special projects including but not limited to flyers, pamphlets, and other content needed to support communication needs
  • Actively seeks student, faculty, staff and alumni stories that support the strategic messages central to marketing campaigns
  • Uses a wide range of media including email, social media, web, video and print; ensures all media are fully utilized and coordinated with marketing campaigns by working collaboratively with communications and marketing team members
  • Coordinate the Dark Room Studio and ensures proper management of the space
  • Collaborates with faculty and staff to create and upload pre-recorded virtual class lessons, departmental videos to maintain accreditation, virtual team meetings, etc.
  • Updates the college website and intranet with press releases, schedules, calendar of events, etc.
  • Updates and maintains the college's social media outlets
  • Assists with the coordination and promotion of special events on campus
  • Participates in appropriate committees and task forces as assigned
  • Performs other job-related duties and projects as assigned in support of the College's mission, core values and goals
  • Minimum Qualifications

    Associate's degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning.

    Valid NC drivers' license.

    Preferred:
    Bachelor's degree in communications or journalism from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning.

    Experience in an educational setting.

    Experience with Adobe design products such as Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere Pro and Illustrator.
