    Learn more about our services, industry experience and culture at ProfileWeaver is seeking an Audit Senior to join our Employee Benefit Plans team An Audit Senior will perform in-charge responsibilities on external, internal, and employee benefit plan audit functions .

    They will demonstrate a thorough understanding of technical accounting literature within the GAAP and SEC hierarchies and have an understanding of generally accepted auditing standards and common audit procedures and techniques for complex financial statement areas.

    This position is based in the Long Island office. An Audit Senior will develop and enhance client relationships through strong communication and project management skills.

    They will execute engagement planning activities which include gathering information for time budgets, coordinating all planning activities on engagements with the supervision and guidance from more experienced staff, and designing a risk based audit approach.


    Responsibilities:
    Interface with client personnel to obtain records and information pertinent to the audit process.
    Gain an understanding of client business operations, procedures, and needs.
    Prepare audit workpapers, and review the workpapers of less experienced staff.
    Prepare client financial statements, and review statements prepared by less experienced staff.
    Assist in the planning of engagements, and in certain cases manage the planning process.

    Education and SkillsBachelor's degree in Accounting or related fieldMaster's degree in Accounting or related field is preferredThorough understanding of GAAP and GAASStrong project management, team orientation and interpersonal skillsCPA strongly preferred3-5 years of audit experience in a public accounting setting requiredExperience working with Employee Benefit Plans requiredFlexibility to travel to client locations, including local travel and the possibility of minimal out-of-town travel.

    Annual Base Pay Range in the New York City Metropolitan Area:
    $85,000 to $115,000Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
