    Job Summary

    University Information Technology has an opening for a NetDevOps Engineer within its Common Infrastructure Services department.

    This position will support equipment automation, information collection and reporting, and workflow solutions, as well as participate in the design, deployment, continued development, integration, maintenance, and validation for network automation and related systems.

    Responsibilities


    Performs tasks associated with the engineering of network systems used in data communications services, including fiber optic, twisted pair, IP systems, switches, routers and LAN / WAN Systems.

    Collaborates with other team members and groups to identify and develop scalable network designs, solutions and policy recommendations.

    Ensures continued smooth operations of the global network infrastructure.

    Supports internal application groups by identifying and presenting their network-impacting requirements to the rest of the network engineering team.

    Supports and leads implementation of growing network infrastructure.

    Prepares various documents such as work orders, purchase orders, records equipment, facilities and systems, and budget paperwork.

    Minimum Qualifications


    Requires a bachelor's degree in a related area or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) and at least 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area.

    DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS :
    Experience with Automating Operations/System Administration

    Strong understanding of Linux, Mac OS X, and Windows operating systems

    Experience with using REST APIs

    Hands-on experience with VLAN trunking, STP troubleshooting, and enterprise level routing

    Strong understanding of network protocols ( DNS , DHCP , TCP /IP, ARP , HTTP , HTTP /S, SSH , etc.)

    Strong understanding and experience integrating large enterprise systems using scripting languages (JavaScript, PowerShell, and Python) and standard protocols

    Experience developing and implementing scripted automation solutions to optimize operational tasks

    Experience in using configuration management tools like Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform, HashiCorp Terraform

    Proven ability to participate with other functional teams in systems integration and design with attention to detail

    Excellent communications skills

    Experience with specific platforms:
    ServiceNow, InfoBlox, Solarwinds, Cisco APIC , Cisco DNA Center, and Cisco IOS and Nexus platforms

    Develop automated and scripted solutions that integrate with Enterprise Systems

    Operationally maintain the Orchestration systems in multiple environments

    Troubleshoot automation issues through entire stack

    Preferences

    Four to six years of previous IT related experience preferred.
