My client is seeking a Tax Auditor with a specialization in Payroll; the ideal candidates will be detail-oriented, have a background in public accounting, and be in the Ronkonkoma area.

Location: Ronkonkoma, NY

Schedule: 5 days a week in-office, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM

Salary: Up to $85,000

Responsibilities:

• Audit payroll tax liabilities to verify the accuracy of tax codes and calculations.
• Assist in the preparation and filing of quarterly payroll tax returns for clients.
• Review and prepare responses to government tax inquiries.
• Stay updated on payroll tax laws to ensure companies compliance.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting.
• 3-4 years of experience in public accounting, with auditing experience preferred.
• Flexibility to accommodate peak payroll tax season work requirements.

Preferred Skills:

• Excellent oral, interpersonal, and written communication skills, both internally and with clients.
• CPA certification is preferred.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
