    TCS064, T4, Band 7 Maximus is seeking a Data Policy Writer and Analyst to become an integral part of our Department of Defense (DoD) client team in Arlington, VA.

    The ideal candidate will offer expert guidance to the Chief Data Officer (CDO) Directorate, assisting senior leadership.

    This role requires the ability to deliver strategic advice, informed counsel, and robust recommendations to inform policy decisions, align investments, and facilitate effective, actionable outcomes.


    Job Duties:

    • Serves as subject matter expert on data policies and instructions.
    • Review materials within the CDO Directorate to ensure editorial quality, consistency, and compliance with established style, format, and content standards.
    • Responsible for designing, developing, and implementing data policy documentation and standards.
    • Research and prepare written analyses or summaries (such as memoranda, reports, briefs, articles, presentations, or charts) from multiple sources and express data-centric technical information comprehensible to a broad audience.
    • Provide policy solutions to support data-related services and perform reviews to ensure adherence to DoD guidance and policies.
    • Respond effectively to inquiries, tasks, and requests related to data policy and governance, serving as a trusted resource for stakeholders and SAP CDO Directorate.
    • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with cross-functional teams, various high-level stakeholders, and senior technical individuals.
    • Monitor regulatory updates and data-related developments to proactively adapt policies and practices to evolving standards.

    Required:

    • Candidates must possess an active TS/SCI clearance.
    • A Bachelor's degree in related field such as Information Management, Data Science, or related technical field is required for this position. 4 years of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of the degree requirement. An Associate's degree and 2 years of relevant work experience may also be considered in lieu of the degree requirement
    • 7+ years of experience developing data standards and/or operating data governance efforts.
    • 7+ years dedicated to supporting policy development and generating requirements.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
    • Strong ability to develop collaborative and productive relationships with a wide range of cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

    Desired Experience, Skills, & Qualifications:

    • Experience in data governance, compliance, or related field with a focus on data policy development supporting DoD programs.
    • Prior experience supporting Special Access Program (SAP).
    • Experience working with OSD, Joint Staff, or Service Staff levels.
    • Exposure to ML, AI, and programming languages such as Python and R.
    • Experience with data ontologies and strong writing and communication skills for collaboration with senior Government and/or Military personnel.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex regulatory requirements and develop practical, scalable solutions applicable to DoD environment.
    • Familiarity with JCIDS and PPBE processes.
    • Master's degree preferred.
    • Advanced logical reasoning and critical thinking skills, capable of responding to and integrating information from various sources.
    • Ability to synthesize information from diverse outlets to create effective solutions for senior DoD leadership.
    • Familiarity to various database technologies (SQL, NoSQL), data integration (ETL/ELT) frameworks, data security (ZTA, ICAM, ACCM) and DoD cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP).
    • Expertise in data modeling, data warehousing, and advanced data analysis techniques including AI/ML/NLP, and data profiling.
    • In-depth knowledge and skills in applying new data technologies, data management processes, system analysis, and process engineering concepts to recommend optimal implementation approaches, assess the impact of new policies, and lead implementation efforts.

    Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package. Other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards.

    Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
