- Guides patients to exam rooms and delivers direct patient care
- Prepares exam rooms, ensuring readiness for patients and providers, and maintains stock of supplies for patient assessments. Responsible for keeping exam rooms clean and compliant with standards.
- Records vital signs, supports physicians during patient exams, and inputs all data into electronic health records
- Conducts checks on emergency equipment logs and medication refrigeration logs.
- Adheres to Managed Care and Quality requirements (e.g., vitals, e-prescribing).
- Reports relevant observations to Physician, Office Manager, Director, or other health team members.
- Coordinates ancillary testing, prior authorizations, and consultations as needed.
- Follows up with patients on test results, prescription refills, and offers assistance with patient education.
- Serves as a link between the patient and their family and the healthcare team.
- Supports front desk tasks as required (mail, fax inbox, phones, check-in, co-pay collection, charge submission to the billing company, etc.)
- Performs other related duties as necessary.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Preferred: Medical Assistant Certification
- 1-3 years of experience
- Basic knowledge of computers. Ability to navigate web-based applications at a basic level.
- Effective written English communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in verbal English communication with medical center staff, patients, families, and external parties.
- Demonstrated understanding of standard practices, procedures, and policies applicable in various situations.
- Ability to work collaboratively in small teams to enhance workgroup operations by contributing ideas, identifying issues, and respecting team members.
- Deliver high-level customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and external parties in a professional, service-focused, and respectful manner through active listening and problem-solving skills. Maintain composure in challenging situations.
