    Responsibilities*

    1. Under direct supervision by the RN performs delegated clinical or laboratory procedures.
    2. Monitor, set-up & maintain the operations of clinical equipment.
    3. Record & document vital signs.
    4. Stock & maintain inventory of specialized areas.
    5. Transport patients to & from designated locations.
    6. Assist with admitting & discharge procedures.
    7. Perform other related duties as assigned under the direction and supervision of the RN.
    Required Qualifications*
    • High school diploma, GED or equivalent, ability to read and write, and the following:
    • Progressive knowledge in methods, procedures, materials and equipment of designated area is necessary.
    • Must be able to perform a wide range of physical activities which include moving, transporting and positioning patients and equipment as well as constantly positioning self to provide patient care and related duties.
    Desired Qualifications*
    • 6 months experience in skilled long-term facility/ acute care hospital or
    • Volunteer work of the equivalent of 1 year or experience short-term care facility (i.e. rehab) or
    • Enrollment in pre-PA or pre-MA program track or
    • Completion of Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) program or
    • ADN (Associate Nursing Degree) program.
    Background Screening

    Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
