- Under direct supervision by the RN performs delegated clinical or laboratory procedures.
- Monitor, set-up & maintain the operations of clinical equipment.
- Record & document vital signs.
- Stock & maintain inventory of specialized areas.
- Transport patients to & from designated locations.
- Assist with admitting & discharge procedures.
- Perform other related duties as assigned under the direction and supervision of the RN.
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent, ability to read and write, and the following:
- Progressive knowledge in methods, procedures, materials and equipment of designated area is necessary.
- Must be able to perform a wide range of physical activities which include moving, transporting and positioning patients and equipment as well as constantly positioning self to provide patient care and related duties.
- 6 months experience in skilled long-term facility/ acute care hospital or
- Volunteer work of the equivalent of 1 year or experience short-term care facility (i.e. rehab) or
- Enrollment in pre-PA or pre-MA program track or
- Completion of Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) program or
- ADN (Associate Nursing Degree) program.

Responsibilities*
Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
