- Lead technical delivery of base business projects mutually with all the brands.
- Ensure defined needs for equity aesthetics, consumer acceptance, manufacturing capability and quality are met from the program brief through design, engineering and commercialization.
- Lead multi-functional teams on specific projects, as assigned.
- Lead the conceptualization, initiation, development and implementation of new and improved packages and processes including design generation, prototype development, engineering specifications, functionality and quality testing and technology transfer.
- Lead the process for cost saving projects through evaluation, testing, and implementation.
- Demonstrate effective collaboration and leadership within a cross-functional team environment with minimal supervision (internal / external customers, including Operations, Supply Chain, and Brand teams).
- Build a competitive advantage by identifying, evaluating, and championing technical advancements, design trends and innovations in packaging.
- Manage and execute multiple projects at various stages, with shifting priorities, and extremely tight timelines.
- Participate and / or lead brainstorming and information gathering as part of the resource planning process, as needed.
- Provide subject matter expertise in selected packaging technology platform(s) while maintaining a working knowledge of the packaging principles and operating systems required to support RealTruck's business.
- Understand, interpret, and refine package testing procedures and standards to support the effective design, validation, and implementation of new packages and packaging technology.
- Bachelor of Science degree required; Packaging Engineering degree preferred.
- 3+ years of packaging related experience required. If a candidate possesses a Bachelors in Packaging Engineering, less experience may be considered.
- Packaging development and manufacturing experience required.
- Experience with returnable packaging preferred.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office.
- Skilled in CAD software.
- Skilled in ArtiosCAD or equivalent.
- Skilled in CAPE or equivalent palletization software.
- Ability to write, speak, and comprehend English.
- Ability to present to both internal and external customers.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Some domestic travel may be required.

Description
POSITION SUMMARYThe Packaging Engineer will be responsible for independently leading complex packaging projects and supporting higher level technical initiatives. This will include developing innovative packaging formats from concept through implementation, optimization of existing packaging to drive value, and building competitive advantage as related to packaging. This position will collaborate extensively with Marketing, Sales, R&D and Quality, and all functions within Supply Chain (Procurement, Manufacturing, Customer Service, OEM customers, FEDEX & Logistics), to ensure completion of assigned packaging projects within the specified time, cost and quality parameters.
