    Under the direction of an administrator or manager, oversees the day-to-day operations and activities of residential lodges; develops and implements programs and services to enhance and address Student Life, including but not limited to annual self-supporting residential programs that utilize on-campus residence hall facilities; serves as a support and back-up advisor to the Residence Hall Association, Associated Student Board (ASB) Student Government, and campus clubs that charter through ASB.
    Key Duties & Responsibilities

    The following duties are typical for this classification. Incumbents may not perform all of the listed duties and/or may be required to perform additional or different duties from those set forth below to address business needs and changing business practices. Essential responsibilities are designated by *.

    1. Oversees and directs the work of residential life staff. *
    2. Partners with Human Resources (HR) in the recruitment, selection, and hiring processes of staff; participates in the District screening and hiring processes. *
    3. Interprets, applies, and communicates District policies, procedures, rules, and regulations for students and staff. *
    4. Reviews, updates, and recommends updates and/or changes to policies, procedures, rules, program information, promotional materials, and fee structures. *
    5. Reviews and approves student residence hall applications and payment contracts; reviews, verifies terms, and signs residence hall licensing agreements, as appropriate. *
    6. Conducts and/or coordinates health and safety inspections of residence hall facilities. *
    7. Establishes, updates, and maintains manual and digital record keeping systems, files, file sharing, and filing systems related to the area of assignment, including but not limited to student, budgetary, administrative, maintenance, and other district or college partnerships. *
    8. Partners with internal department management, such as Facilities, to coordinate, plan, and schedule a variety of maintenance, replacement, and repair schedules to meet short-and-long-range facility and equipment needs of the Lodges and department. *
    9. Assists in the review and evaluation of the Lodges' facilities and furnishing conditions; assists in preparing and planning for future needs, including but not limited to common kitchens, student recreational areas, common and shared areas, and lodge resident amenities. *
    10. Develops department program goals and objectives; prepares and monitors budgets developed in support of identified goals and initiatives. *
    11. Develops opportunities for residents to provide feedback related to the quality of life in the residence halls; reviews and analyzes received feedback to make recommendations and/or improve and expand existing programs, as appropriate. *
    12. Oversees assigned staff to initiate, plan, and coordinate program activities for residents and other students. *
    13. Oversees and leads staff enforcement of rules and regulations; maintains safety and security of the area of assignment. *
    14. Implements and facilitates the Intramurals Program. *
    Minimum Qualifications

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
    • Bachelor's degree in business or public administration, or related discipline; AND
    • Two (2) years of experience in supervising residence halls, student activities, property management, management of student support programs, student discipline, or related fields; OR
    • Any combination of education and experience which would provide the required qualifications for the position.
    DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Master's degree in a related field.
    LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
    • Possession of or an ability to obtain a valid driver license, if driving is required as an essential responsibility of the position.
    • Some travel for various off-site meetings, trainings, conferences, workshops, and/or events in support of the overall objective of the position.

    The College and Community:
    College of the Siskiyous, founded in 1957, is in Weed and Yreka in Siskiyou County with an enrollment of approximately 3,000 students.
    The main campus is located in the historic lumber town of Weed, California, at the base of 14,162 foot snow-capped Mt. Shasta. A campus center is located in the City of Yreka. The main campus, accessible from Interstate 5 and Highway 97, is 60 miles south of the Oregon border. Both locations feature state-of-the-art facilities, an exceptional setting for learning, and quality instruction in a caring atmosphere. The communities of Siskiyou County feature festivals, carnivals, concerts, art galleries and live theater.

    Accreditation:
    College of the Siskiyous has excellent faculty and staff, as well as a diverse and engaged student population. The College has a positive image in both community and region and is fully accredited through the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC) of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), an institutional accrediting body recognized by the Commission of Recognition of Post-Secondary Accreditation and the U.S. Department of Education.

    Selection Process:

    After the preliminary screening, selected candidates will be invited to the campus for an initial interview with the Search Committee. Videoconference interviews (in lieu of an in-person initial interview) will be offered. Candidates to be interviewed will be selected from applicants who most closely meet the minimum and desired qualifications. Meeting the minimum qualifications does not guarantee an interview. The Search Committee will recommend finalists to the Superintendent/President for a final interview.

    Conditions of Employment:
